Vulk, Elimentals, I'm very surprised - actually somewhat shocked - at the lack of effort from the Android tablet manufacturers to match/beat the iPad in price and availability. It is as if they don't care. In SA with the severe shortage of iPad 2's there is a good opportunity right now to capture this market ... but everybody seems to be fast asleep. How can anyone realisticly believe that the average user with the money to buy into these systems - will willingly pay more for a non-Apple product?! We often hear comments about Apple being too expensive, but when it comes to tablets they smoke the rest. Something here doesn't make any sense.
And to add to this the build quality on non-Apple products are traditionally not on the same level as Apple. Another thread on the Samsung 10.1v confirms this. Why should I pay more for an inferior product? Yes, the specs are sky-high, but how well does the whole package perform against the iPad? Android tablets must become way more affordable else they will not be able to capture enough market share. I don't want to pay more for an all plastic squeeky tablet.
