ASUS Eee Pad transformer

Agreed! Im also loving it :) Everyone at the office is very impressed...even the Apple freaks

I keep discovering awesome functionality and I was surprised by Polaris Office. Its obviously no substitute for MS Office but cool to edit things.

I just want my keyboard!

Silkman, thanks for the help. I didnt get much of a chance to fiddle with file transfer yesterday. I got streaming right but not file transfer.

no problem...please pm me how to do streaming.

I'm thinking about going with a different tablet, or requesting my money back and just saving it at this point...

Don't get me wrong it's my first option and I love the TF but the interwebs is plagued with people unhappy with the all round video performance of their TF

playing 1080p video for example is advertised but it's very laggy, 720p video on the web browser is apparently unwatchable

can anyone confirm how their Transformers are coping with such things? thanks lots..

People are noticing bad results even when converted to the right format while using 3.1 and the latest firmware, never mind all the lag, I'd hate to have to convert every video want to play through the TF

Woot got my device...

Now to wait for the 1st charge :(

Haha...Awesomes. Wow...Im very impressed with Rebels service. You ordered it this morning from JHB and had it delivered to you in PE this afternoon at 4. Thats amazing!

Coolbug, I have not noticed that problem as I havent tested it but will report back when I do. As for other tablets, well, the Acer Iconia 500 has its fair share of problems as does the galaxy tab. Have a look on XDA Dev forum and you will see what im talking about.

I would recommend you order one. Its awesome so far. Everyone at the office is oooh and aaah and I have heard more good than bad. Also remember that forums are a place where people seek answers to problems. No one starts a thread to say, "I have no light bleed!!!'. Its usually, "I have lightbleed and I hate the TF".

Anyways, look to order from Rebel Tech like Elimentals did. Ordered this morning received this afternoon.

Actually my original supplier carried the cost of my "upgrade" After a telephone conversation.
They shipped me the 32 for no extra fee (SCORE!!!!)

Well I am BURNING to start using it and know now how you felt the 1st day you got yours :)

I did confirm so far no bleed, My thinking is that it was the 1st shipment only that suffered from that, we in a way lucky that we missed those.

OK Rebels one just arrived as well.

I now have 2, well second one is going to a friend :)

Lol, yesterday you had nothing and were peeeeed off and today you have 2. Still I'm mighty impressed with rebel. And no I don't work for them. Just really impressed with their pricing and service.

Holy crap this is gonna Take forever...
Coping my 7 gig of Game data onto tablet via WiFi is not a good idea...moving to USB :)

Odd that I did not have to install anything to see or be able to copy files across to the tablet via USB.

Oh wait thats because I use Linux :p

USB? Did you also get the keyboard?

Nope you plug in the USB cable into the PC instead of the charger ;)

The device itself is a USB client, the Keyboard dock gives it the ability to become a USB host

Sweet, thanks.

I tried copying my Gameloft games with my micro sd from my DHD. It says it is not an original version...douche bags

Been using mine now for a good couple hours and loving it!

I gotit mainly because my fiance has an iPad and i have the iPhone4 so wanted to give Android a try. So far i'm impressed, still lots to figure out but that is part of the apeal. Reading up on rooting, seems a lot trickier than jailbreaking so i'll leave it until i know what i'm doing... but the rooting will come :D

My only issue so far is that it's not quite as smooth and responsive as i had hoped it would be but I'm hoping that it will improve with updates and /or rooting....

It will improve for sure. I see some people really using ADW EX and they have noted an improvement in smoothness. Personally I'm happy with my device's smoothness. Every now and then I hit a stutter and its gone. One thing that does irritate me is the autorotate. Now that stutters and takes forever. I just tend to lock it now in landscape mode.

Agreed its not as smooth as I thought it would be, my DHD is a crap load smoother with much more 3D intense UI. The Ipad 1 is allot smoother and also starts apps faster.

If I look at the difference between 3.0 and 3.1 Yes I opened both one is upgraded the other is not. I can see there is a big improvement on UI and running applications so my guess is it will get better as we get updates.

Just to give a Idea on Honeycomb. I have a 950 i7 3Ghz with 8 gig of ram and 64gig ssd for my OS and my system tells me F U when I try and run the emulator to debug my code. The same PC can run a 2.3.3 and 2.1 emulators at the same time with no issues. So its defiantly a hog that needs to be cleaned up. I think its part of the reason Google dont want us to see the code, as I am sure some dev's will have heart attacks when they do :)

When I am done with this app I will do more testing, but the 2 games I launched actually do run smoother once launched than on my phone so there is hope.

maybe someone can help me out. I installed a 32GB Micro sd card- and loaded about 27GB of movies on my internal memory. when I click on settings in my TF I can see 28GB free on my Micro SD. however in My Computer in Windows XP the TF properties shows as only 1.3GB free space (from the internal memory). I now can't copy any more movies to my Micor SD even though there's tons of space...

What Android did is symlink the MicroSD onto a directory
Think of it as creating a shortcut of a Hardive as a directory, Windows doesn't know its a shortcut so it can not add that size to the total free on the device.

You should be able to copy files into it, one at a time if Windows does a size check before copy or els just move some of the files on the device into that folder.
