Hi Guys, a lot of apps seems to think the storage is located on /mnt/sdcard however the SD card is actually /removable/MicroSD

Is is a bit frustrating as some apps wont allow you to change the directory to /removable/MicroSD or /removable/SD. Some apps are rendered competently useless because of this.

Any workarounds? /the only alternative I have found is to use a file manager to browse to the location and open files that way, but it in certain cases it is not adequate.
 
hi guys, anyone pre-ordering the prime? if so from where, im thinking of getting it from Gamestop.com
prime + keyboard doc + protective screen shield.

Well as everyone knows I'm an Apple fan, but the new Asus tablet is probably the first tablet to really tempt me to change sides, especially with Ice Cream Sandwich. :)

From the Anandtech review:
The Prime is everything the original Eee Pad Transformer was missing. It's thinner than an iPad 2 or Galaxy Tab and built out of aluminum and glass. Other than minor details like the buttons and connectors, your hands never touch plastic when using the Transformer Prime. Even those plastic buttons look and feel great. The tablet is just beautiful. It echoes the design language of ASUS' Zenbook, but without the disappointment in the panel department. ASUS' latest tablet actually has the best display of any tablet we've reviewed, including those made by Apple and Samsung (more on this later).

Oh yeah.

It can also play back 40mbps 1080p MKV's, very impressive. Not to mention the best camera in any tablet. Now this is proper competition for the iPad 2.

Will the prime ever be released with 3G?
If not, then I'm in a quandry.

I'm looking at a tablet.
The iPad is awesome - but I hate iTunes.
So that leaves Android.

Do I look at the Tab 10.1, or the TF101 3G? Or rather wait for the TF102?
I will wait for the TF102, if and only if I can connect my CellC woosh stick in the tab.
Question is, can I?

1st off you have the model numbers mixed up

TF101 Original transformer
TF102 Original transformer with 3G (Only available in Asia)
TF201 New Prime tablet

Now onto the 3G, ASUS dont ship 3G units outside of Asia and this will be the same for the Prime when 3G units come out. As for the Cell C 3G speed stick. There is a way to get it working already on the Original TF101 but you will have to root and copy in the USB kernel modules. (Tested to work with the black speedstick if you remove the MicroSD card in the unit.

There is a very high probability that the new ICS will have this in the kernel as they have included a large amount of additional USB device support including XBOX 360 controller and Kinect.

ATM, I can get the TF102 (32GB) for roughly 6,5k.
Would you recommend me on getting the Transformer, or wait a bit for the Prime? (If I can just use my wooosh instead)

Can all Android tabs take a usb stick? I don't have many SDs lying around (keep them in my cameras).

Well it looks like I will be fresh out of luck.

Europe will only get it in January so my friends that's coming back before Xmas will have nothing for me :(

As for when it will be in SA, I dont think it will be soon, as a repeat from the original, most US stores are sold out, Amazon is even canceling some pre-orders because they will not be able to fill them.

I bought a keyboard dock from Amazon UK. It looks like it's a spanish keyboard cos it has other symbols on it.
The frustrating thing is there is on @ sign on any key.
How do I even send an email?

Shift - 2 does nothing?
 
I see that IC has a Transformer special.
R5999 including a dock.

Is it a good deal, should I go for it, or wait out for the Prime?
I am still considering the iPad, if only because I have an iTunes account.

My real reservation is whether the transformer lags in any way in apps like games, skype or multimedia apps, 'cos I HATE lag.
