Asus Rog Ally

I saw people say a Windows update today or yesterday messed up the graphics driver, maybe that happened to you.

I saw you have to download the driver from Asus and then uninstall the display adapter in device manager, install that driver, restart and you're good to go again.
That is a possibility, I'll do so tomorrow, will just copy the game from my pc, it's 35 minutes vs 1.30 to download

Seems like both the SD reader and card has died.
Any idea if I can return it to Incredible Connection?

It won't be long for mine I think. I just put an inexpensive 64G card in and after 2 hours of gaming on turbo mode the sd card gets like burned up. It starts ejecting itself. :(

I'm trying to do a clean install and see if I can try to boot the SD card reader to life. I don't want to return it and deal with IC.

So far the 512gb SD card picks up in raw format with 51.75 storage available.

Sadly it's a major design flaw, the heat flows to close

Yeah I have tried everything to get it to work a d still can't get the reader or sd card to work. I'm going to go to IC today, will let everyone know what they say.
Good luck man. How long ago was it purchased? What do you plan to do about the microSD card if it is a known fault? *if it was an option, see if you could get a refund and then purchase one directly from the asus za store for a slight discount. Then use the discount and upgrade the SSD. Obviously that's a really big if though

Download completed yesterday.
In the interest of the test, I restored my macrium back up to "default", and will report back once the game is installed

I bought it in June as a bundle deal with the micro sd card.
I'm hoping IC just does a refund and doesn't give me too much of issue.

It appears to be working fine for me. Loaded past the cut scenes and went into the character creator fine. Should I be testing until a certain point or were you just experiencing crashes?

I've been playing on my pc, so it was a cloud save about 5 hours into the game. But on Vulkan it would sometimes just freeze.
I got right up to trying to load my saves on Directx 11

I shouldn’t have this SD card issue if I play on 10W - 15W all the time, right? I'll give it a try on an old 16gb card.

Frak that's not good
Really disappointed in the device. I recommended it to so many people. I wouldn't mind the SD card to fail but not the reader as well.
It's not like I was playing AAA games to warrant the reader to die. The only games I was playing before it died was Hades and Dead cells.

If IC refunds I would either get the next revision or get it directly from Asus to get the 3 year warranty. The stress of it breaking again is a headache.

I'm on my way to IC now will let your guys know what they say.

I see they charge a 15% restock fee if you want to return a product. I might just opt for it instead of getting it repaired.

Yeah know how you feel :( I don't use an sd card so don't know of this issue.

Crap, I have no idea how I could test that one out. Will play the game and see if I experience anything like that during my play through. So far so good though

Yeah man, that really sucks. I don't use an SD card either so wouldn't be able to advise on that. Interestingly enough I see there's renders on reddit of a person working on an expansion card for the nvme drive. To add an occulink to the Ally for better external GPU support, but the thing that caught my eye was the orientation of the Nvme drive on the PCB itself. If they dropped the usb ports, I'm sure we could fit 2280 drives on this thing which would make it worth it, then no need for SD cards at all
