Asus Rog Ally

So odd thing, not sure if it's an update on the Ally side or BG3, but it now runs quite well at medium settings getting well over 30fps. Could also be the 900p thing I did.
I played some Mechwarrior 5 on it and was sitting at 45 to 60fps with settings similar to the Series S and getting comparable fps. Odd that something technically "faster" is getting the same speeds, Windows really is the bottleneck I think.

Just an update guys. I went to the store today morning.
Person was there and told me they can only refund the rog ally and memory card is still being reviewed.

They wanted to offer store credit but I just wanted the cash.

They said they can't do it in store but will get head office to refund me as I bought online. So waiting now for the refund.

I called the head office number, they say they don't action refunds and the store needs to action the refund.

I called the store and they are referring me back to head office, any idea on what I can do?

Should I try phoning the bank and ask them to reverse the transaction?

Go stand by the IC counter till the manager sorts it out, if they say refer to headoffice you tell them to phone headoffice with you right there, do not leave until the monies is paid back.

So I went to the store and the store manager wasn't there , however the guy that assisted me this time sent the email to head office to process the refund while I was in the store - saw the email he sent, said will take 2 weeks to process.

The memory card there is still no feedback so still waiting on that.

I switched off the Rog last night after unplugging it. This afternoon after power on, I noticed that it had 7% battery life. Something strange happened. It turned off, but I suppose it didn't turn off and shut off when the battery died. Oh well.

This is in Armoury Crate btw, not MyAsus

Oh and if you did the regedit for 900p then you get to choose that in ACSE. 720/900/1080 shows up and you can cycle through them

Sigh freaking update breaks graphic drivers. Need to Uninstall it and do a reinstall
 
Feel bad for you guys. My Rog still rogs along. Maybe ASUS QC is bad.
 
For some reason I've seen that when using 30W Turbo on power, games sometimes crash. I've had Genshin Impact and DOA 6 crash this way many times. And it's a funny crash because the screen freezes but the audio continues and you can finally get back to Windows. Maybe the 30 W mode is too much for the ROG and that causes the issues we're seeing. I now play at most at 26W custom profile.

I have the Sabrent and keeping the original in an enclosure as backup. Remember after 1 year recovery will be switched off for ROG ALLY users.

Don't have that issue but I've got a manual mode with a higher fan curve, which keeps it at 80 instead of the 90 the standard would hit
