Asus ROG

Loving the copper detailing on it. Will be interesting to see how these do, a few companies going after the mobile game market, I was watching a video of another gaming phone on Unbox Therapy last week, also had a RGB light on its back.

That's pretty wacky.

Not something for me, but would be interesting if that style of hybrid devices catches on

Trust me, there will be plenty more coming from various manufactures. All depends on the offering, and at what cost. You get the ideas, specs and cost right, and you have a winner.

Yeah sorta. I guess I'm not the target audience.

Just bought another rog laptop though. That's more my speed :D

I actually think it's getting a bit boring now in the mobile space anyway.. there is just something missing from manufacturers, which is why I'm not bothered upgrading or lining up to get the latest devices.

There's also the Razer phone, which does look more like a traditional slab phone, but is kitted for gaming.

Had a Sony Xperia Play back in the day when gaming on Android was a thing and you actually bought games.... Now with all the Freemium and no real games to push the envelope I say this is DOA.

Now if those specs came with a PC/Laptop dock and say switch to Remix OS when plugged in, it would have had a market.

What are all these real games the Xperia Play had?

From what I remember the Xperia Play arrived with mediocre specs for its time and games back then were not always well tailored as they were subpar iOS to Android ports and there was not much competition around gaming.

There are far higher quality games now available like PUBG, Dead Trigger, Asphalt 8, NFS No Limits, Riptide GP series, Grand Theft Auto Vice City and San Andrea's, Mortal Combat X, RACING: Traffic Tour etc etc.... I am just naming what I have seen my younger siblings play and a few I have tried.

Just because some games are "Freemium" doesn't mean they are poor quality, in actual fact gaming in Android is NOW a thing, the Xperia Play was a product that failed horribly as Android was not ready at the time for any sort of serious gaming. Many of the games now can be downloaded for free but then require purchasing packages within the game, this has helped fuel the huge boost we have seen coming into mobile gaming.

Anyone who says gaming was a thing back then and not now has no idea what they are talking about as it's very clear by the amount of competition getting into Android gaming in the last 12months that it is now most definitely a thing.

Have you seen the dock and controllers that come with this phone and allow you to game on the TV wirelessly?
