AT&T iPhone 4 unlock

Hi all,

I've been given a 32 gig iPhone 4 (AT&T) by a friend in law who bought it off gumtree and of course it's locked to that network.

I've done some research and it seems like there is no ultrasnow unlock for the baseband on my phone (12.04.01 if I remember correctly). I tried contacting AT&T after the announced the out-of-contract iphone unlock but they were of no help.

After some more googling, I found people on forums point to this:

My question is, has anyone ever used this kind of service or is this just a hoax?

Only option is to use IMEI unlock. Many people are offering this service now since AT&T started unlocking their out of contract iphones. The service you mentioned above does seem to work, according to some well known iphone developers.

Just some feedback for anyone interested:

• I tried AT&T but they advised me that they can't process my request due to the fact that the iPhone wasn't used on the AT&T network for the full contract period.
• Tried http://www.officialiphoneunlock.co.uk - took about 2 days and I have a fully unlocked iPhone 4
