Huh? the 5770 beats out the 8800 by an average of 20% while using 50W less power.
As for the OP, the 5770 is the better value for money, but dont expect to be able to max out everything at 1920x1080. If you want max settings then the 5850 makes the most sense. Anything above that and value for money goes out the window.

Yes, the 5770 is faster than a 8800gt, no doubt there. The graphics just look better on the 8800 than on the 5770. Any idea why that would be? Maybe the old games i play is better suited for Nvidia cards? COD4, MOH, NFS...

Huh?How do you mean better?

5770 takes up less power,heat and has dx11 capability.Compare the two cards against one another and you'll see
clock for clock the 5770 is better and new tech.Regarding "visual graphics",try switching on AA and AF setting and perhaps bump up detail in your games and try switching on V-sync and are you running the latest drivers?

5850 definatly better price/performance vs 5770. Especially when upgrading from an 8800GT. But you still cant play everything on max @ 1080p. Metro 2033 with everthing on very high including dx11 features brought my 5850 to a crawl of 10 fps.

Ok, but Metro 2033 is the new Crysis, so I wouldnt lose too much sleep over that. Every other game out there a 5850 does just fine

I ended up buying the Powercolor 5770. Nice card.
