ATI HD4850 Launched!

Equipped with a RV730 which contains 320 stream processors, just like the RV670 that equips the Radeon HD 3800 series, it will allow up to 1GB of GDDR3, linked to the GPU by a 256 bits bus.

We're slowly moving to that moment where AIBs have had long enough time to develop & customize the new Radeon HD 4000 products. Force3D just announced that both their radeon HD 4850 and 4870 will be available soon in a Accelero Twin Turbo - Black Editon cooling fan. And I have to admit, that's looking pretty dandy with it's four heatpipes.

The cooler was recently announced by Arctic Cooling.

Well... from what I gathered, and thats from lots of research, the rv730 will sport a 128bit bus, and I say that to be on the same side. The one thing that is bothering me is the fact that if it does have 256 bit, then why release the rv730 at all? because all it is, is a re-named RV670... so whats the point? If ATI made improvements to the AA and AF etc, then why don't they just make the RV680??? It's all very stupid if you ask me
