I got this new laptop but the software catalyst wont respond.. i get this message
"Catalyst Control Center: Host not responding"
"Windows is identifying possible solutions"
and then nothing happen can anybody help me please...

Have you downloaded the latest Catalyst drivers? IF you have, perhaps try an older version.

Don't laptop manufacturers still lock you into using their own drivers?

If so, your manufacturers website should be your first port of call for drivers.

I've never heard of this before! I'm always using the component manufacturer's drivers instead.

Hmm very strange, what did you do recently to your laptop? Did you install any other programs recently? I see that this was posted on a different forum however a solution wasn't found: http://www.overclock.net/amd-ati/692437-catalyst-control-center-host-not-responding.html

Try to completely uninstall the Catalyst Control Center nad install the driver from Windows Update.

It may actually be a problem with the Windows, you may need to reinstall windows if you can't find a solution.

Is it a switchable graphics laptop? - You not running on battery so only the onboard graphics is on?
Have a look in device manager & see what display adapter is in use.

Make sure your downloading for the right card - AMD site works - they used to lock us out(mobility modder etc but no longer needed)
