did this last nite, and got him down eventually (yes Im able to raid 25mans again :D) but I as feral kitteh failed badly. 1st 3 attempts got pwned by the sonic pulses, then sorted that out. the rest of the tries I mostly died in the airphases (which I also eventually sorted out. and yes I know, keep moving) but then proceeded to generally die soon after. 1 or 2 tries were just bad luck with rng and rings and fires at the same time.

basically, I was the person dead the longest, and ended up doing less dps than the tank.

so, any suggestions? and yes, gearscaling fails kitteh, specially when you have minimal exp/hit as recommended for max dps. I can always get more hit/exp as I hate missing. or what? :confused:
 
I dno, if you do it right, its impossible to die on this. I rarely die unless someone else stuff up the sonic breath.

In normal mode we used to chaos method of killing him. On heroic we had the whole raid group up for phase 1, so that made that easy.

In air phase we made it a rule, don't dps instead stay alive, even for the ranged dps. In this phase we also have 5 predefined spots for the 5 groups to go run around, so as to prevent the fire from being where we gonna group up on ground phase. Also the guy with the fire breath on him, always runs north using a speed potion which is supplied by the guild bank. Other than that, just move around, stuff happen so slow on this fight its the easiest thing ever to avoid all the crap that happens.

there you go. yes I know the staff is not great, but weapon dmg > all for kittehs, and the halfus staff dropped once, and a fsckn huntard won the roll. not so keen yet on the expensive enchants as better gear should be incoming running hc raids. got the VP for the tier chest, but then its a trade off for exp vs hit. meh

using webafrica, so latency is generally fine barring the odd spike
 
roll a hunter best advice for any dpser atm :/

my boomkin is so useless , i have follow rotation and depend on procs for some extra dps, where huntards can faceroll the meters :(

Ok I'm going to summarize what you need to do to gear and enchant wise that won't be impossible or break the bank

1. Get rid of the mace and pick up Jin'do's Verdict from Heroic Zul'Gurub. It's a mjor DPS increase and is only slightly behind the Halfus Staff

2. Reforge, Gem and Enchant the following and it will yield the best DPS, If I don't mention something, presume you have it correct and don't change it.

MH - Enchant +130 agi
Ranged (Relic) - Reforge 28 Crit ⇒ 28 Mastery
Head - Reforge 67 Crit ⇒ 67 Haste
Shoulders - Reforge 59 Crit ⇒ 59 Haste
Cloak - Enchant +65 Critical Strike Rating (5 maelstroms)
Chest - Reforge 97 Crit ⇒ 97 Mastery
Wrist - Reforge 50 Crit ⇒ 50 Haste
Waist - Reforge 69 Hit ⇒ 69 Haste
Legs - Screw the socket bonus and gem both sockets pure agi, Reforge 75 Crit ⇒ 75 Haste

3. Atramedes Heroic is an awesome fight and probably one of the easiest fights once you have the skill sorted. For the air phase, you can stand dead still as long as he isn't targetting you with a sonic pulse. when he does, move out and stand still again. Rinse and repeat every 5 seconds. So many people run around like clueless idiots and stuff things up for the whole raid because of overlapping pulses. You don't need to keep moving. You only need to not get hit once targeted. I'm sorry but there is not really something like rng on that fight and I wish ppl would just stop blaming rng for personal mistakes in Cata.
The fight has also been a joke since it was patched in Feb (? I think), so if you are dieing to things its just simply your own fault and you need to fix it or be better.

Kaine, wish I could mail you my OS gear that I never use anyway. Basically full raid heroic, including staff, tiers, trinkets etc
 
well, we 4/14 hc now, and I can start raiding properly cos of linespeed upgrade, so it should be coming soon :D
