Kindly show us in what road traffic law this sort of stuff is permitted. Police and traffic cops may, in carrying out their duties AFAIK, but no-one else. Act, paragraph, etc please. Thanks.

What utter cr@p it is against the law full stop. Only VIP gvt guys can do this and not CEO's. Dont know where you get this information but it is rubbish
 
AFAIK Vektor made the LM4,5,6 which are semi automatic versions of the R4,5,6 and it would probably be hard to tell the difference between the two behind a tinted window.

edit: Only saw the stop and got out part after I posted. Still hard to tell the difference (except my R5 was ugly as hell and I swear it weighed 100kg's at times!)
 
amazing that rich pplz are allowed to have their own swat teams with R5's, but everyone else has to struggle to buy a pistol.

Anyway, if anyone tries to pull me out my car, Im driving into the back of their car as hard as I can and as many times as needed. Either way, its going to cost them, and they can explain to the baas. My car is ancient, so no worries.
 
I have the LM6, what is your point? Not just anyone can own one of these in fact you cannot just own a semi-auto rifle, simple as that. LM series is semi auto - R series is fully auto.

which is my point. hence why he speculated it could have been private individuals. that is, in his mind he allowed for the possibility that it was not a govt convoy.

Ok not sure if they allowed to, but anyone can get an armed convoy if they wanted, I know some diamond dealers(Legit) that do this after trips overseas. Theres a few security companies that do this.

Chapter IX : Road traffic signs and general speed limit
58. Failure to obey road traffic sign prohibited





1) Subject to subsection (3), no person shall, unless otherwise directed by a traffic officer, fail to comply with any direction conveyed by a road traffic sign displayed in the prescribed manner.

2) In any prosecution for a contravention of or a failure to comply with a provision of subsection (1), it shall be presumed, in the absence of evidence to the contrary, that the road traffic sign concerned was displayed by the proper authority under the power conferred by this Act and in accordance with its provisions.

3) The driver of a fire-fighting vehicle, a rescue vehicle or an ambulance who drive such vehicle in the performance of his or her duties, a traffic officer who drives a vehicle in the carrying out of his or her duties or any person driving a vehicle while engaged in civil protection as contemplated in any ordinance made in terms of section 3 of the Civil Protection Act, 1977 (Act No. 67 of 1977), may disregard the directions of a road traffic sign which is displayed in the prescribed manner: Provided that –

a) he or she shall drive the vehicle concerned with due regard to the safety of other traffic; and

b) in the case of any such fire-fighting vehicle, rescue vehicle, ambulance or vehicle driven by a person while he or she is so engaged in civil protection, such vehicle shall be fitted with a device capable of emitting a prescribed sound and with an identification lamp, as prescribed, and such device shall be so sounded and such lamp shall be in operation while the vehicle is driven in disregard of the road traffic sign.

Isn't it better to just yield to the convoy and let it pass. Why do we always complecate things on the road. Do you guys also block ambulances, fire trucks, marked police cars, etc? The VIP protection unit is part of the SAPS too. The fact that they roll around in Beemers shouldn't make a differnce to other police vans.
 
How do you move out the way in peak hour traffic on a road? Oh and by the way it is not an emergency. They just think they are above everyone else.
How come Mandela never carried on like this? It is known fact he would not allow his drivers to carry on like this
 
I'm still with Milo on this one, he doesn't specifically say it was the ANC or that it was VIP protection.

Because of the lack of plates on the one car and fakes on the second he speculated that private individuals are now following suite with the government and getting their own batch of hooligans to intimidate people on the road. He saw their weapons when they got out to confront him.

Regardless of who it was though, the point remains these people shouldn't be allowed on the roads.
 
It may be true that it was private people who were responsible. But then we all know what has happened in the past with these so called government security personal(hooligans). So the chances are very good that these were government people.
 
I HATE these guys! The one night they also threw the finger at me for not getting out of their way fast enough.
