Attack on motorist by ANC convoy

Did anyone hear this guy phone in on 702 this morning and speak to John Robbie about being attacked yesterday afternoon by an ANC convoy with blue lights, no front plates and false back plates?
I wish one of these monkeys would try assault me for not moving out their way in peak traffic on William Nicol.
 
1. he said he didn't recognise the person being convoyed.
2. he raised the interesting possibility that the no front plates and false back plates could mean it may be someone who is not government related. and given the crazy country we live in it's certainly not outside the realm of possibility.
 
What would happen if you get forced of the road and you pointed your firearm at these gangsters aka ANC members?

I've heard multiple stories of these people assaulting motorists for no good reason so I believe that you would bw within your rights to defend yourself.

He also said that they had R5 rifles, that indicates that they are indeed ANC or GVt and they just roam around with false plates, wouldn't be the first time.
 
You would be in your rights, but they will shoot you and nothing will come of it, you see they are allways right and therefore anybody who goes against them is allways wrong.
 
I was listening to 702 when this guy called in. He did not say it was an ANC convoy, he said he was attacked by a convoy very similar to the ones used by VIP protection. He also mentioned that the first car didn't have plates and that the seconds plates were fake.

He speculated that individuals with enough money are imitating the convoys used by the ANC for their own personal benefit.
 
Again, as I pointed out, he clearly said they had R5 rifles, he seemed to know what an R5 rifles was and they dont just hand these out to just anyone. Well at least they shouldn't.

I'm just pointing out that the guy that complained did not specifically say he was attacked by the ANC. As much as I dislike them myself I don't think we should be giving them credit for absolutely everything that happens on a daily basis.

The issue remains however, regardless of who it was, the guy was attacked and assaulted by some idiots personal guards because he apparently didn't react quickly enough and get out of their way.

In my mind they should outlaw these convoys completely. If some minister has a meeting and has to be somewhere they can leave early and get there in due course like the rest of us.

There are many of these stories in the local papers, and The Witness has run a bit of a headline-and-editorial campaign against the nonsense, without much effect.
 
Enough of this carp, it's time everyone blocked these bastards.
We need the taxi's to come to the party as well and help us block them.
Soon enough they'll realise that a chopper is the cheaper option.

He did specifically say they were VIP protection guys which = GVT = ANC

I thought so... SA has alot of delegates from FIFA bosses and other important people that required armed convoys. Even CEOs of companies are allowed to travel like this. If anyone was on the highway the Saturday of the final between United and Chiefs you would have seen alot of convoys, even with rifles.

How did he manage to see the R5 rifles through black windows and a car traveling faster than 120kmh? Were they waving it around through the windows? Even so, they armed escourts, the type of weapons cant differentiate between ANC or any other organisation. What does DA armed gaurds use? Water pistols?
 
no he said it was a convoy. didn't specifically say govt. hence why he speculated it could be private individuals imitating the convoys.
