My youngest brother just let me know he failed his driver's test .

Thought it would be interesting to know how many attempts it took before you got yours. :)

I failed twice :(. The first time at the Alley Docking by reversing too far back and hitting the pole right at the back.

Second attempt while parallel parking I let the car roll by accident (mind you I've already parked the car but forgot to keep my foot on the brake as I was checking my mirrors to see if I'm in safely (n00b mistake!)

First time as well. Was 21 y/o.

Step sister practiced for months and failed. I practiced for 3-4 weeks I think and passed :D We did the license on the same day. I felt bad though.

I got mine first time as well.... My best friend's sister took 8 times though....LOL (",)

You must tell your brother its not a good idea to go do the test with a open sixpack of beers in the passengers side lol

First time for both. I hear of stories in the East Rand where they fail you if you don't pay a bribe something like R1500. Corruption is rife

Got my licence on the first try... took me 5 tries in Aus.

Passed second time, I did the parking thing correct and the back ally docking but never bothered to use my indicaters and check blindspots while I was doing all the parking, thought in the back of my head because I`m still in the yard its not nescsesary, felt like such a chop when he asked me to climb out and asked why I never indicated and failed me before I even touched the tarmac outside the licensing department

First time for learners and license.

I think some people make the mistake of practising too much, they let it get into their heads and then screw it up on the day. I had 2-3 weeks of lessons because I'd already had good clutch control, and my dad used to let me drive around with him while I had my learners.

Ag, don't worry; I failed 5 times :D - was out on the road all 5 times though. They failed me on technicalities - not outright fails; just clocked up too much penalty marks.

One time they failed me for driving too slow throughout the whole test - did 50km/h on average; said that I posed a threat to other road users and that that is technically a black spot, which is an immediate fail.
