Data recovery company Retrodata has challenged Apple to come clean about what it claims is a "critical manufacturing flaw" affecting some hard drives used in MacBook laptops and desktops like the Mac Mini - an issue that could result in data loss.

Thanks but I dont have seagates in any of my laptops or my mini (afaik - the power is still out).

Those that do have Seagates will have to ensure they keep regular backups.

My MBP has a Hitachi.

Come to think of it I have the old hdd from my mothers mb. Have to have a look and see what it it.
