Ekaya is looking for 3 talented full-stack and backend developers to work with our CTO to help create and scale the software that will power the future of the rental property space and how we connect with our homes.

We’re a team of passionate designers, developers and support staff who aspire to deliver the Ekaya promise of an improved rental experience across web, mobile and tablet.

Job type: Full-time employee and/or contractor.
Positions: Full-stack Developer (Senior / Intermediate) & Backend Developer (Senior / Intermediate)
Location: Newlands, Cape Town
Reporting to: CTO, Jeffrey van Aswegen
Remote OK? Yes. Although, 2 or 3 days/week in-office is preferred.
Annual salary range: R480,000 – R700,000 (experience & skill-level dependent)
Equity participation: Early employee stock options available.
Experience: Our stack requires an affinity for the following – Ruby, Ruby on Rails, PHP, Laravel, Python, Git, Mysql, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Linux. Vagrant/Docker/Chef/Puppet experience is a bonus but not essential. We expect a good knowledge of Javascript and some experience with frameworks like CoffeeScript, ES6, Elm, JQuery, Backbone.js, React, Redux etc.

I dunno why it is so hard to post the important bits especially for us on mobile devices:

You must be self-motivated, enjoy learning and have experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, PHP, Laravel, Python, Git, Mysql, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Linux, Vagrant/Docker/Chef/Puppet is a bonus but not essential.

We expect a good knowledge of Javascript and some experience with languages like CoffeeScript, ES6, Elm, JQuery, Backbone.js, React, Redux etc.

At what point is something a bonus and not essential, can you separate it. I am assuming you mean that only Vagrant onwards is a bonus.
 
Posting a job ad with no salary is like selling a product and not revealing the price until someone is interested! ie. when you show interest we gonna try screw you over!

Our lovely new offices are in Suite 4 of Cardiff Castle on the corner of Kildare Rd & Main Street, in the leafy suburbs of Newlands. We’re surrounded by some great stores (Hazz Coffee, SushiBox, Barristers, Basilico, Wynhuis and Cassis to name a few) and just down the road is a 24hr Woolies/Engine and Cavendish.
