Amazing how a complaint about one service provider can lead to personal attacks. You also a vodacom employee?

Let's see where this thread goes :)

Personal attacks? Where?

I merely mentioned that you had moved from one member of the cartel to another and warned you not to expect life to be all that rosy on the other side. What's personal about that? My accusing MTN of being in a cartel is a lot less personal than you accusing me of being a Vodacom employee.

By the way Vodacom can't be a cartel on it's own - a cartel is a group of companies colluding (to keep prices high, or service levels low, whatever) and MTN is right there with them (compare the costs of data bundles). If you don't know what a word means, perhaps you could look it up before spouting it repeatedly all over the Internet in the wrong context.

AntiThesis and Vodacom3G pointed out that you couldn't expect solutions if you didn't provide details, and all you do was mumbled about privacy and victimisation. Then you complain about personal attacks when there were none at all.

Seriously, if you perceive these (blunt but pretty mild by any forum's standards) comments as personal attacks, you've got issues to deal with.

And by the way, threats about going to RPB don't really cut it with me. (Mostly because I have no clue who they are anyway.)

yeah don't diss them, there are vodocops everywhere :P

Thanks for the motivation to put the SIM in the drawer and avoid using it, because thats exactly what I intend doing!

The irony is, you must be living in a dream world. Answer me this: Why does iBurst, MWEB, and a host of others not want my entire pedigree when something has broken- they take my word for it and sort it out. As for your MTN problems, that's probably just your bad luck. I've had a lot of experience with MTN, back when I used to repair cellphones for a living, I had an MTN company SIM. As I recall I never had problems. Vodacom, on the other hand, problems, problems, problems... from day one.

I never really gave a sh*t about it until recently when my armed response and internet banking *had* to be tied to my mobile. It's not nice knowing that people cannot reliably get hold of you when it matters, because the network always has problems, or telling your staff that their salaries will be paid late because the internet banking SMSes don't come through, not to mention all the countless SMS'es I've sent over the years that never arrived. Had to pay for them, but ja, I have no recourse whatsoever. I must just be a good little SA consumer and bend over for more bone up my arse from the SA cartels. Enough is enough!

As for the info being hard to go on... how much more must I give? I've given the area, there's only one frikken basestation here and it's in Telkom's exchange yard How much more info do you need? Must I give you GPS co-ordinates and other crap too, to help Vodacom find their own basestations... FFS. Talk about spoon-feeding.

As for the comment about SA "being the best place in the world" (and this is O/T) I want to hear what you have to say after you've been attacked in your own home and your wife and daughters raped.

Well said however I disagree with the last part about your negativity towards SA. I know people who have emigrated and aren't as happy as they thought they would be. Since you are a business person you should stay in SA anyway because this is the best place in the world, and certainly one of the best places to do business because we defnitelly do have to take it up the ass everyday, and like someone said don't let go of the vaseline because MTN is much the same.

Service providers are like banks, you think the one is better than the other and eventually you stop fooling yourself and wanting to become attached to one brand, because you realise that they are all a slimey bunch. And we just have to keep on getting raped everyday. I tell you rape is the biggest crime in SA, because we get raped by companies all the time.

Having just read through the posts in this thread from today, two things are clear to me:
  1. No one has personally attacked you [today] in this thread, on the contrary you are the one lashing out at fellow forumites; and
  2. Your rather more aggressive than passive posting, has resulted in the degradation of this thread to the point where I feel it has to be closed.
I have phoned 155 before in connection with that awful "Farmall" basestation in Northriding, they didn't make me jump through hoops, which proves to me one thing, that this forum is defnitely the waste of time, precisely as some people claim it to be! 155 didn't solve the problem in this particular case, so I took action and decided to rather go with another cartel that works, note the keyword "works" yes it is expensive but I need reliable communications, which is too much trouble for Vodacom at present to worry about poor old me.

As for the word "hate" you brought it up, not me, but I do suspect you're part of the Vodacom fan club. Do the ads do it for you? I have really nothing further to say and any more attacks at my character or because I complain, will be dealt with via RBP. It is rather curious to me how arrogant South Africans have become. I have moved on to other boards, run by Americans and British people, hosted in their respective countries. What a liberating experience compared to here. People still have manners on those boards, unlike here.

And to think I get told I can't complain because I didn't/don't vote. We haven't even had the election yet and already I am getting given a hard time because I complain about telecommunications service providers. I can only imagine what life will be like on this forum in 2009 after the elections.
Considering that you claim you do not have to provide 155 with any useful info or hoops as you put it, and you are totally uncooperative here and you have no manners and you are just wasting everyone's time including your own, I suggest that you continue reporting your problems to 155, however I must congratulate you for having gotten off your bum and bought a pre-paid MTN SIM card - you should have done that at or before the start of this thread since you had already decided you could not be helped.
