Atul Gupta charged by ANC

Wait wait.... when it says "Gupta charged by anc"... does it mean the same as "Gupta invoiced by ANC"?

Is Zuma now excused from any participation in the whole Gupta fiasco? I heard something like this over MFM. If this should be true then the military and all other Government officials acted above the President for the Gupta’s to utilise Waterkloof AFB?

Yup.
Pretty much the consensus is that the diplomatic service has created a smokescreen and provided a scapegoat to protect the executive from the fallout.

That's naive thinking on your part. He knew about it. He HAD to have known about it.

Of course, someone like him (I trust you know what I mean here) will never accept responsibility for any of this. If you follow SA politics, you will see that each time his leadership and presence are required in a crisis situation or on an important issue, he is notably absent.

I think that's what he means. Zuma is being 'exonerated' from this whole shebang. Same with the whole "namedropping" angle they're playing now. It's just a way to excuse the President from responsibility.

I suspected from the start that that was the reason for government's quick response. They wanted to distance the top guys from the issue from the get go. Find patsies, lay blame quickly, put shield around Zuma and other high rankers, continue as before.

I must apologise that this is in Afrikaans:

http://afrikaans.news24.com/Suid-Afrika/Nuus/Zuma-ministers-nie-betrokke-by-Gupta-landing-20130519

"Die president is nie betrokke in die goedkeuring van die landing of geen landing by 'n lugmagbasis nie. Die besluit lê by die departement van verdediging, veral die lugmagbeheer daar."

This means that the Airforce acted above the Presidency, should I be correct in utilising our Military, this should be a crime?

EDIT: This is an act of high treason?

Exactly, old prime corrupt is indicated as the other party in yet another corrupt relationship, but the way he set things up nobody dare say anything else he cancels their benefits. Malema anyone?

Democratic elected government, Africa style. Or like some would call it .. banana republic!

Errr...I dont care about him being charged. I care about the people that actually gave permission for this plane to land....and dont come with this "we dont know who and will be investigating" BS!!! You know exactly who gave the permission but you are now to embarrassed to say. Charge the @-holes in government also.

All that will happen is that they could be kicked out the ANC... that's laughable.

The problem however is that people know who could have had “possible” involvement. Now the commission is accusing only the Airforce and the Minister of Transport, the whole act in utilising the Military in such way is High Treason should I understand the act correctly. To accuse someone like this, knowing your organisations own involvement is really F-upped. So who is really guilty here and HOW guilty? High Treason is not exactly a petty crime…

Guptagate has shown us that the president is not responsible for anything in the country anymore.

When someone needs to shoulder the blame for something, a random person is chosen and then sent off with a golden handshake.

It's all that the ANC branch can do. The DGs' report seems to show that the Guptas pulled all sorts of crap to get that plane to land at Waterkloof. It will be up to the NPA to charge them criminally.
