May we sell a property on auction? I tried with the estate agent people, but they are not finding a buyer for long now.

How do we auction it then?

You can try Claremart. Just beware that most buyers expect to pick-up a bargain at an auction, so you might not reach your reserve price.

I'm not sure people ever get more money by selling at an auction...

OTOH most houses in OZ are sold via auction ... guess YMMV

Can never understand Claremart auctions - their commission is 11,4% , which I factor in when bidding and guess what, it means a lower price for the seller. And since its an auction, I do expect a lower price than market value

Yes, (unfortunately) it seems best to just go with an estate agent, although they also take their pound of flesh.
