Hey everyone,

So I am still on the lookout for some wheels and have taken a liking to the A1.

I have done a lot of driving in Audi's before and although quite boring, all the ones I have driven have been comfortable and quiet.

So, I have been looking around and am leaning towards a 2011 - 2012 A1 1.4 TFSI Ambition.

I have seen a couple posts regarding the auto gearbox failures but I can't find enough to be of concern. I would be looking for an auto this time around as I spend a lot of time in traffic.

I would obviously take out a 2 year warranty on the car, but I just wanted to know if anyone knew of anything to look out for, if it's a rubbish car (Still need to test drive one, but I imagine it to be similar to the Polo TSI DSG). Any alternatives?

Thanks

The A1 only came with s-tronic auto box I believe. If not, make sure you get s-tronic gearbox.

The s-tronic is much better than older multronic boxes that came with older models. S-tronic is also a dual clutch gearbox, so its shifts instantly!

Needs to be probably serviced each time(check the service book), but will last much longer than the multitronic boxes.

S-tronic box also cost a pretty penny to fix if they fail.

I have driven a Audi a3 2013 1,4TFSI s-tronic as a rental, it was awesome!! I hope to buy one when I can afford it lol!

I don't believe you get the A1 with multitronic. Just S-tronic. S-tronic service intervals are something like every 60k km. This is a must.
