Audi A3?

Loving this car guys, can be chilled and comfortable when driving to and from work and can really open up when i want it to :)

theres a demo 1.9tdi A3 2 door down the road at the dealer here. Anyone recommend the tdi? I drove it, the megane 3 and the Kia Koup. The koup is awful, the megane is better but underpowered and the audi rocks! Its 260k with leather, symphony sound. Good deal?

Guy sitting next to me here at work swears by his 1.9 tdi. I have the Symphony sound and it is FANTASTIC!! Haven't driven the tdi, but I hear it is quite good. From those 3 i would go with the Audi. How many KM's on the Demo?

it was the best drive of all 3, and I love Audi. Solid and very nippy. 1000km on the demo, maybe i just go new to be safe

someone has also suggested the siroco 1.4T? its a little more, so not sure if its worth going for. I do really like the TDI though. Siroco is very nice looking.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. They go for quite a bit more brand new. I'm afraid the She-row-co isn't manly enough for me ;-) And it's VW.

Well, i looked at qutie a few second hand cars before i went with the A3, very happy with it. Mines has 58 000 kms on it, drives so smooth. Going to take it in for service in a few weeks... The car is alot quicker than i expected, driven a 320i (also a 4 cylinder 2.0) but this thing just moves. Would still say check out a 323 if its in your price range, else go for the audi.

Scirocco looks cool, haven't driven one so i cant judge.

Oh those 1.4Ts are great engines, considering they put out almost as much as a 1.8T. You can get an Audi A3 with the same engine.

think that would be great, but then once u added all the extras the siroco has, u might end up passed the 282k that the siroco already comes std with cruise cntl, leather, traction and stability cntrl etc, and the styling is nice on the vw

as far as i can tell, vw and audi are the same thing, with vw just offering the cheaper cars, audi would be burnt at the stake for having a chico on their showroom :)

Dear dudley, the only thing Audi and VW share are the engines (and in some instances Audi shares Lamborghini engines and parts). You can hardly compare the two otherwise. This is the same as calling a Lexus a Toyota, a Volvo a Ford or a Mercedes-Benz a Smart car. Sharing engines and parts does not make it the same vehicle.

Audis and VW's also share the same chassis in many cases. Many parts are also dual branded, Audi and VW badges.

One thing going for Audi's is the cars are built in Germany and shipped to South Africa. And no disrespect to SA manufacturers, but most VW's are built locally.

cool, siroco just too much right now, staying with the tdi 260 all inclusive of delivery etc, incl leather , symphiny sound and arm rest...2010 model, demo 800km's.

a good deal?

The extras only come to around about 8k, and if the car has a 2009 registration (2010 model or date of first registration?) then it isn't a fantastic deal :/

Yea check when the motorplan started, might a b a 2009 car with 2010 reg.

I've got only 1 suggestion to figure out which way to swing.
Ask for a discount on a brand new model. What I've heard is that you take leaflets of say a Gol or BM1 to show the dealer that you really are interested and then you PUSH him/her for a deal. Car dealers are desperate at the moment, if he/she dont give in then try another dealer. If you save R1000, its 2 tankfulls...

actually just the leather is 11k extra, plus the symphony, metallic, armrest and fogs, puts it around 15-18k in extras. So if you bought the base model with none of that in and added it using their online tool, you can easily see, it really is a good deal, and yup its a 2010 model, but i will find out when to when the motorplan runs, that will be the clincher, but considering these vehicles are scarce, and it has a couple xtras already, I thought it wasnt so bad?

its worth a shot but theres only one of these and if I cock them around they just sell it to the next guy...lol, its a slippery slope, but yeah, moneys money hey, just not sure its worth the effort

Leather seats R11600
Symphony sound R3950
Arm rest R1500

Oh indeed, my miscalculation! But then they're charging you R3k more. I would seriously at least tell them to give it to you at R257k, after all a brand new car would lose at least 10% driving it off the floor, and since this isn't a new car you're losing out.
