Well then clearly they've changed since around 2005, "mechanics", if you can even call them that were morons and management were a joke.

You are in Brackenfell.
Take your car to Engine Technique. Do a good job but don't expect them to wash your car or do anything like that.
But they work well and priced reasonably.
And they aren't "replace replace replace" people either.
Specialise in VAG.

He is the owner and I was also apprehensive at first but I've watched him work and he is quite meticulous.
Sure you can go to the bright and shiny dealership experience that is Goch & Cooper just down the road...but you'll be back the next week because something wasn't working or worse a few months later when someone else works on it you find out what wasn't done etc.
You know I almost went to G&C. Good thing they quoted me an arm and a leg which made it easy to cut them off...

Yeah took my car there for a service and the PCV job.
Then they quoted me R7000 to do my brakes and never again.
Bought the parts from Goodhope Spares to do it myself and they pointed me to Engine Technique which is basically next door and I've used them ever since.
Also a good guy who will offer you preventative options instead of just waiting for stuff to fail so he can make money.
