I heard from someone that Audi now offer extended motor plans. She heard it on the radio. Anyone know anything about this?

Heard it on the radio as well yesterday. Something about extending it to 200 000kms and 7 years.
Nothing for nothing of course, so its gonna cost you, but nice to have as an option?

They used to offer extended motor plans. Same with Merc and BMW.
The pawpaw hit the fan a few years ago though, with them changing their underwriters and any car older than 2007 (iirc) couldn't get the plan extended.

I suppose they just got their stuff sorted out now, although probably only for the newer ones still.

Wow if it's 200k or 7 years I will jump on that assuming its not a fortune.

Makes sense I suppose. Many people have been put off from purchasing Audi because they depreciate so much once they leave their motorplan and with the lack of an option to extend, it made the choice to go with Audi much more difficult.

This is unfortunate. My motor plan expired in Feb, would have loved to renew it. Car is up for sale now, probably won't be buying audi any time soon.

seems like a last resort to compete with bmw and merc sales.

I wonder how much the extensions will cost...

Well it will be very much welcomed. I wonder if they will extend motor plans that have just recently gone out.

@efitol - I am guessing in the R15 000 - R20 000 region?

That wouldn't be bad, considering the cost of a turbo and a cambelt service. I'll call to confirm though.

Called this morning and not very exciting news, for me at least.

It is dependent on how many km's you car has done, I didn't ask the limit but there is apparently one. Your motor plan cannot be out by more than a month, mine expired in March so counts me out. There are 3 options. The first is R18 000 for 1 year OR 20 000 KM's, then the 2nd option was R27 000 and thats when I stopped paying attention. The guy wasn't very good at explaining all of this. I suggest if you are interested to give them a ring.

hmm.. which car was that on?
I paid like 10k for 20 000 km about a year ago on my S3

Holy moly. They want R159k to extend to 200k KM and by 1 year. I'd rather take my chances.

Errr...that's a significant amount down on a brand new car. Why on earth would anyone even remotely consider going for this?

I don't know how you managed to stop yourself from bursting out in laughter in their faces.
