Rumour has it that Audi is to boost its A3 range with RS muscle. According to some reports the RS3 will get the same five-cylinder turbo engine that drives the new TT-RS.

In the TT-RS the five-cylinder produces 250kW but Audi may detune the engine slightly for the RS3.

The RS3, which will probably make its debut in the next A3 range in 2010, would also be a halo model and will rival BMW’s smoking 135i.

Though an Audi RS3 model could seem counter-productive in the current climate, the modern five pot engine is relatively economical. In the TT-RS has an average C02 output figure of 214g/km and a combined fuel consumption of 9.2 litres/100km.

:D:D:D

Ag please man. Nothing can beat a 1.4i citi golf with 4 turbo's and nitros for 1/10th the price of that expensive audi..

"Oooh look. A corner. I can't take the corner in my ****ty golf."

Crash. Death. Fail.

"I shoulda spent the money on spinners instead."

Me to!!
0 - 100 in 4,6 sec!!

Im saving now... need a new job gonna start applying!!!

i wish i could get that those power specs are insane!! that will defentley smoke the 135i shame wonder how BMW will respond:confused:

How will BMW respond?...

They'll replace their already 3/4 year old model with something bigger and better that'll trump the RS3 into the ground is how they'll respond.

4.6seconds 0 - 100 will be hard to beat from BMs side.
Will they make a smaller more powerful engine? Or just increase the power on the current 135...

I estimate this RS3 will be just over 500k, so ye maybe BM can do it...
Exciting times!:p

who knows what they'll do..

But salivating over a car and then saying BMW will have to beat them is a bit daft in my opinion..

Audi have taken what.. 3 years to make a car that can beat the 135... so in effect Audi is playing catch up... not the other way around.

Is the 135i 3 years old? Nope only a year old...
Audi has made the RS3 in the old shape as well.
Even if the 135 didnt exist, Audi would have made this car...

BMW copied Audi and introduced their small "hatch" 1 - series models.
Audi has being doing it for years.

Even if its 1 year old.... its still older than this "RUMOURED" RS3...

Therefore BMW was first to the post on this.. and Audi is playing catch up...

and if you're going to be playing the generic model part... BMW was way before Audi in terms of making saloons, therefore Audi copied BMW. See how nonsensical that type of argument is?

This argument coming from a ST fan is a bit daft.
So you saying GTi is better because it came out before the ST ....
Ford is trying to catch up lol....

You so confused shame.
Audi and BM are on par, they now both contenders in the their segment.
Either way, this will be the fastest hot hatch on the market, BM cant really compete as their 135 has a boot.

You sound jealous, maybe we should compare it with Fords RS?
Nah that things a waste!:p

Well yes on BMs side, but from our side a chip and increase in boost pressure you could sort that figure out no problem. plus doing that M3's will have a hard time keeping up with you in the straights, dunno about the corners though..

How did you come to the conclusion that I'm an ST fan...

I think the car is ugly and stupid.

I'm not saying a GTi is better than an ST (even though it clearly is since it sells better than the ST).

I'm just saying this is Audi playing catchup in the seriously fast small car market, and they will get beaten, and then 3 years after that they'll up the stakes again... and its a never ending cycle.
