Audi Q4 E-tron Sportback

Audi Q4 e-tron gets a sizeable upgrade this year - improved range and charging

Audi is upgrading its EV bestseller, the Q4 e-tron, with a new motor that boosts power and efficiency, faster charging, and a tweaked interior with more optional features.

The new model comes with a new naming convention, in line with the rest of the Audi EV lineup. You have the basic e-tron with a 63 kWh battery and the 150kW motor attached to the rear wheels. Above it is the performance edition with the familiar 82 kWh battery, but the new 210kW motor.

The quattro version adds AWD, but since it has the older motor at the rear the total power output is barely higher than the performance at 220kW. Finally, there's the quattro performance that goes up to 250kW, enabling a brisk 0-100km/h sprint time of 5.4s.

The new motor is about 10% more efficient than the older one, meaning that the performance version can extract 30 km of extra WLTP range from the same 82 kWh battery, hitting 578 km. The Sportback model, which has better aerodynamics, pushes that to 592 km range. The quattro (AWD) variants also gain range - anything between 15 km and 32 km.
