10 year old Audi A5 suddenly gave an "emission control" warning on the dash and subsequently stopped driving.
Vehicle was taken to Racing Technik who advised "Timing slipped and a new timing kit is required ... We performed a diagnostic scan on the vehicle and encountered an error code P0016 Crankshaft Position-Camshaft Position Correlation Bank 1. We then performed a compression check on the combustion chambers with the following readings.
Their current repair estimate comes to a whopping R80k
They get good reviews all round - but not being a car fundi - can anyone recommend a different workshop for a second opinion / and or a 'mechanic consultant' who can inspect the vehicle where it is currently and comment on their proposed course of action ( almost like an assessor )

- Cylinder 2 = 49 PSI
- Cylinder 3 = 50 PSI
- Cylinder 4 = 49 PSI
