Since yesterday I have this odd thing happening where when I watch a video (avi), the sound stutters a lot, making it almost inaudible. At one stage last night, it happened and when I closed the file, my PC froze and I had to restart. So any idea what could be the cause of all this? I recently installed new Nvidia drivers, could it be that? That and upgrading to SP3 is the only thing that has changed in the last week.

Any ideas would be most welcome.

Can you do a roll-back on that video driver?(via system properties) or uninstall and install older version
The stuttering can at times be linked to cpu being used.(Virus program updating or scanning in the back ground or other software running in background)
Low memory. Is it on-board graphics and how much ram do you have installed?
