Can anyone recommend brick and mortar shops that sell audio mixers like this or this.

Basically I just need it to accept RCA inputs from 2 sources and output to 3.5mm heaphones with the ability to switch between sources.

I got the Xenyx 802 from Marshall Music in Woodmead
Price?

Also, what I want to do exactly is plug both my PC and XBox 360 into the mixer and just switch audio sources when I'm using either one, can I do that with the Xenyx? Also, I'll be using my 3.5mm headphones for output.

The 502 is selling for R550, and yes you can do it.

You just need one 6.3mm to 3.5mm plug and two 6.3mm to rca plugs. You should be able to get it from them.

Depends on quality and what you want. I saw some USB sound mixers at DJ shop in JHB.

M-audio have a mixer sound system (expensive) but great

Also look here and then shop around for better price

I collected from Soundz direct as I do not like online purchasing.

That Xenyx 802 for R550 rand is a bargain. Myself have the equivalent but Tapco (Mackie) version which use better quality amp ic's internally.

Have a look at this one.Should go for around R300.Any dj shop can get it for you.You can just buy simple adapters for your rca's.

I will rather pay the R550.00 or build my own as there is practicaly only 1 (maybe two) op amps and four pots in that box! :D LOL

Well I'm on a tight budget here and have limited desk space :D so something small, cheap and decent quality will do me fine. R400 or less will be my sweet spot..

Can you please give me a link to one of those adapters? Is that a 1/4" jack at the back of this mixer?

As you can tell, I'm an audio noob. :o

It is the 502 for R550

Sorry did not realize you changed the model no from the first post! :D Anyway still a good price just less of a bargain. Anything else will cost more unless you get a bargain of used or demo stuff. There is a electronics "shop" next to Amalgamated Appliances South of JHB, Booysens that sells brand name demo products where I saw some mixers. Do not know the prices but maybe worth a view IF you are in the area.

Nah I'm in Pta and I'm quite sick of the N1 highway, just check my thread in Off Topic. :D

EDIT. Since you seem like you're into audio, is this jack a 1/4" jack?

Then that 502 for R550 is unbeatable and a faily professional product. Go for it!
You can get the cables and adaptors at any local audio shop or flea market.

Yes it is 1/4" banana plug jugs the big ones. Please note this is four mono chanels and not stereo so you will have to control thye left right balance manually by sepperate volume pots. The 502 for a few rand more is a proper 2 channel sterio audio mixer with many additional features. See here

Ooooh, then I think the 502 is for me, I want stereo.

My wallet is really taking a pounding but hey, I worked hard this year so I deserve it. :D

Oh, and how exactly do you switch audio sources on the 502? I looked at the pic and didn't see any obvious button for changing between audio sources?

The story there is it is a mixer! For example that it mixes the input Chanel sounds all together to the output by turning the volumes up in a ratio. For example you have a voice input or other background music or instrument superimposed over the other channel. By turning the one volume up and the other down you basically switched over. You may also mix voice for singing if a mic is connected. It also have cd/udio level inputs.

Anyway if a single button switchover is required then the unit can be modified, minus one warranty of course thus not recommended.

Are you sure you are not just looking for a audio switch with no volume control etc? How do you want to use it exactly?
