Audio mixer question..

Are you sure you are not just looking for a audio switch with no volume control etc? How do you want to use it exactly?

OK here's what I want to do:

I have my PC and XBox 360 but only one pair of headphones that I want to use for both of them. When I play with my 360 I don't want to have to pull out the cable from the PC and connect it to the 360 each time.

Basically I just want to be able to easily switch between the PCs audio and XBox 360s audio without disconnecting cables all the time.

It will be cheaper to buy a decent extra headphone, otherwise a cheap switchover switch and three 1/4' sockets in a box is in order. Very easy to do. Danger is when one volume is to high for any reason and you switch over your ears may take a pounding. I am sure there is also some market switches available for PC that may includes video switch over to a single screen

That's why I'd also like to be able to control the volume from each source. A mixer still seems like the way to go. Granted I don't know much about the best way to set this up, I just want the quickest, easiest and cheapest way to alternate sources and have volume control at the same time.

Then mixer is a good solution and gives you many other capabilities at the same time and absolute no distortion. You may have to then for-go the switch and at a later time if you find it is really required it is possible to mod the box with a switch facility. A little electronics (rather soldering) is involved but we can always make a plan to help.

PS You can put a mike mixed at the same time and no-one can creep up on you as you will be able to hear them, as well as phone or doorbell, ect
