For the money, this is excellent, though you could opt for the new model, which still comes in at 4.5k, though you still have to add shipping to that:

Look here.

Assuming you have a headphone amp that can drive these? Assuming you have high quality source material to feed it?

If you are looking for audiophile headphones then you need good wired ones. The wireless types are more lifestyle orientated, where there are a number of other factors that are of importance. These factors would also include things like noise cancellation and microphone quality.

Hi what is the best USB powered 2.0/2.1 speakers available on the market?

USB powered? 2.1? Audiophile? Did you hit your head?

Are you looking for a speaker that doesn't require an amp or something? Cause there is powered speakers that you can buy.

Sorry can't say but I can highly recommend the Sony Headphones, Professional or studio:

or

Audio Technica M50X.

The two cables coming with the M50X also brilliant. Nice and long. I use both. THe curly one for when close to desk, the long one when doing guitars or something. Have never broken a cable.

You can check locally as well of course, just using Amazon because it is easy and have lots of reviews.

Also make sure you have enough power for the Heaphones. That is where things can get pricey. THe M50X doesn't require much.

Depends what you like in your sound TBH.

My preference is for a warmer sound with a wide open stage and clear definition. Accuracy and detail are priorities for me. What this means is that I would sooner go for a listener set like the Grado SR325x over an analytical set like the Beyerdynamic DT900 Pro which are designed more for mixing and mastering. Some listeners actually prefer Pro audio so they'll select more analytical equipment.

Your question is better suited to AVFroums tbh. You may even find a deal in the classifieds there.

It depends, some new headphones have real good DSP. Just ask Apple.

my dt990 are pretty good, but whats your set up, do you have a headphone amp?

He asked for USB powered speakers. Not headphones though. Possibly even 2.1. Speakers. USB powered. Speakers.

Yeah, odd question to be asked in an audiophile thread since 'audiophile' grade speakers has a more demanding power draw, but there are USB-powered table speakers and sound bars, some chargeable (or otherwise wireless).

Audiophile generally is a loose term; you can have someone with a $10 000 audio system who can get the same experience with $100. Bragging rights doesn't make you a audiophile.
