Hi people.

On the 23rd April I ordered and paid for the Asus Transformer Prime from Aureus Tech as they were about R700 bucks cheaper than the rest of the offers. On top of that, they also offer a free upgrade to the TF700 Infinity when it gets launched.

I still dont have the tablet and getting a response out of them is a painfull excercise as they dont reply on emails.

Now my question:
Should I insist they cancel my order and refund me and get the tablet from another company, that will actually deliver on their sales, or will the difference between the TF201 and TF700 be worth the wait and free upgrade?

Thanks

A free upgrade to the Infinity Pad... Did that not sound suspicious to you at all?

This sounds like a scam to me. I'd try to get your money back if I were you.

+1

Free upgrade should have already been a clue.

Would also cancel and ask for refund.

I doubt if the "Free Upgrade" is a scam.
I've seen that offer in the UK. It's Asus' way of trying to keep their customers due to some design flaws in the TF201 regarding Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Wasnt there another thread like this?... Same guys I think..
Edit... found it... http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=377500

So is there anyone out there that can vouch for these okes?

Thought I'll give an update.

I've been in contact with Aureus Tech and have been advised that I'll be getting T700 as soon as they receive the shipment which from my understanding was shipped on the 25th June.

Seeing that the US launch date is the 16th July, I'll expect mine sometime that week or the week after. Will post another reply once I've received it.

I know this doesn't help you, but it may help others who are reading this.

I saw the Infinity advertised on Aureus' web site, at a good price, but it was shown as being "on order". WebAntics was the next best price, so I phoned them and they had stock. Two days after placing may order, I had the thing in my hands! I phoned then a few times before actually placing the order and each time had excellent service.

Got my tablet eventually on Monday. As promised upgraded to T700 Infinity.
Would probably not use them again as there is almost nocommunicationn keeping from their side, nor replies on emails sent to them.
