Personally I thought Obama made a great candidate, but after taking cover from the flak he got after his wasted remark I'm not sure what to think of the man

Last time I promise... I actually didn't have it the wrong way around. I was insinuating that our 30+ plus friend had the same maturity as alan...

Yeah but you have to remember how warmongering the citizens of the States are and how quickly they jump on your back... I'll still give him some leeway but I doubt he will last long. To many people against him.

Respecting your veterans and current soldiers is fantastic and in my opinion something that everyone should always do.

However when you refuse to listen to opposing opinions just because you are currently at war then you are on a slippery slope. You have to be able to criticise and the opposing side has to be open to it otherwise democracy is destroyed and fascism rules.

I do understand that he needs to keep mainstream America on his side, but a person either makes a point and defends it or not make the point at all.
For eg. I do feel that my "cowardice" remark was harsh, but that's how I felt at the time

Not sure about how long he'll last but considering who he's up against, I see no reason why he should not be Pres. of the US. I myself have never been a fan of the guy, but I do believe that he'll be good for Africa-America relations
