This is a tricky one. All countries will always claim other countries don't while they do. This is all down to how much legal clout a country has over your operations. Most companies will tolerate a bit of meddling if they have operations in a country but pull out of that country if it gets too much.

Because that’s Twitters definition of free speech.

Not quite. There's a big difference between a personal invasion and then a continuation of that invasion and highlighting a violent crime.

I’m not following.

In both instances an individual suffers a personal invasion, and a continuation of that invasion through public sharing.

Has the Ausfailian government asked Twitter to censor each and every bit of violence that occurs there?

A country can censor content within it's jurisdiction.
OZ can request that the content be censored within OZ.
Outside OZ is a different matter.
OZ asking X to censor content within US by a law in OZ is outside of OZ jurisdiction.

Eg. Oz can't tell ZA that they like polygamy and that ZA must block all polygamy.

It's not nearly the same thing. Violence is seen as an external crime not about the person. We would indeed be in a sad state of affairs if we censor it. Rape is a personal crime concerning the person as individual and their being.

And jurisdiction is about the entity and not the information. For instance if a court orders that a publication may not disclose the identity and details of a victim then that can be enforced in any country and not just those the publication has its operations in. You may not agree with it but it isn't new to the internet. You're also bringing sovereignty into this where that's something completely different.
