Authentication problems?

While I am in the same boat, I do not feel that VM owes anybody an apology in this regard. It was never promised by VM that their sim cards would work in a 3g data card from another Network. They tried to fix that for those of us that do want to use them in 3g datacards but unfortuantely as of now there is a problem. So, its BAD LUCK - they did try.
If you want to use their sims and get 50c/meg, go out and buy their GPRS/EDGE data card and if it does not work then, by all means complain on HelloPeter.
Virgin do not have 3g at the moment so they have no obligation to provide you with a sim that works in a 3g card.

my 2c :)

Thank you very much for this post adsl3g. I couldn't have said it better. Luckily we know they are still working on the problem.

I am using a Wavecom GPRS modem that does'nt care whose SIM you put in. Last night it worked OK with my 64k SIM - but no joy today. Sure as nuts it's a tech problem - I also get a lot of this on the Vodacom network, so Im used to it by now!

I am using the new SIM that they send me.

I am up and running since Wednesday 16:00 with my cellphone as modem - to afraid to log off / shutdown because I might loose the link!

@MobileData - you won't have a problem using the Cell as a modem - I'm currently also using it. The problem is with the 3g/HSDPA datacards which are not supported by Virgin. They are trying to resolve it though.
