Automate switching between 2 ADSL accounts from Android?

Well doesn't look like that is possible with the D-link Linky. It is possible to delete/create new connection with telnet if you want to try that.

Lol, true, I'm also following that. Yep, seems like I'll have to build on your script when I have time. Telnet router-related documentation is nearly non-existent, and I brace myself for some rough trial-and-error coding.
 
It took me quite a while to get that script reliable enough. I want to try pfsense at some time.

PfSense is fantastic! :D I am looooving it. Soo much easier than struggling and remembering to switch accounts.
I have everything setup and automated so that I don't have to worry about a thing! :D

Much easier than trying to run a scrip each time, more reliable if you have others using the internet.

Do I need to put my router in bridge mode for pfsense? Will try it a bit this weekend.

I'm running my router in half bridge (PPPoE with pass through).
Otherwise full bridge works too, as long as PfSense can dial up a connection via the router it's all good.
 
Quick question, will PFSense affect gaming latency in anyway? Also I will be running plex media server and pfsense on the same box, will that cause en problems (HP N54L microserver)?

Might see a (very) slight improvement. Especially if you're not running other VMs in the N54L.
 
I have not noticed any ping differences and I am running it on an old E8400 HP server with 2GB RAM.

As for guides on actual installation, I just Googled for a basic one and then followed a few guides by DrJohnZoidberg on this forum.

You need at least 2x physical NIC's on the micro server though, one for WAN and one for LAN.
WAN will go to your router and then LAN will be everything "coming out" of the PfSense firewall in essence, DHCP too if you want to use it etc. etc.
 
Did you manage to get this working? I would like to use my DDWRT router to automatically switch between a telkom soft cap account after hours and another capped account during normal hours. Any easy way to do this directly on the router?
