Automatic Crawling Speed

So I've been really interested to find out, from those that have automatic vehicles, what speed their car crawls in traffic. My A4 goes around 9 - 10 km/h without using the accelerator.

It also got me wondering if there isn't maybe a standard speed in place similar to the Gentleman's Agreement for governing top speeds amongst the German manufacturers.

Sigh... Not allowing those of us with manual transmission to comment.
Those of us with enough torque can crawl too.

Can't all manuals crawl when you release the clutch as well?
That's how I was taught clutch control.

What is this crawling? You just overtake on the yellow line or if there's no outgoing traffic on the right lane, cross to the right lane and speed up.

Why? It's the same as driving normally but you just aren't pressing the accelerator.

I'm referring to leaving the clutch half engaged all the time. Suppose that was the issue with having an underpowered 1.2 vehicle.

Ya I had this problem with my 1.2. Crawling in traffic was a nightmare... constant pressing clutch in while in 1st gear if traffic stops, then slowly letting out and pressing a little gas, rinse and repeat.

It was truly a nightmare! To the point where I changed my attitude towards owning a manual.

I crawl in my Fiesta, foot of clutch, RPM at just a tad over 1000 and it just crawls at +/- 10 km/h.

2.0 TDCi, crawls at approximately the average crawling speed here, +/- 10km/h. Can also negotiate a slightly-inclined driveway without any accelerator input.

Its probably relative to your engine power and car weight... Don't think its standardised.

8km/h in my 1.8 Astra automatic (4speed). However I try to avoid going below 10 km/h because the instant fuel consumption then changes from l/100km to l/hour and it feels like such a waste.
