Hello,

Firstly I think I know the answer to this question but here it goes anyway.

I upgraded my contract in Nov 2013 and life was good and happy until the end of my current contract period.
I had done a telephonic upgrade and was quoted figures which I was happy with. However when my new invoice came it was almost double the "Agreed" Price. When I complained, I went through to the head office and listened to the voice recordings with some friends of mine. We picked up that I had indeed said I would rather not go with the more expensive package, the manager ( Aneal*) had told the consultant who did my upgrade ( Sean Moodley) that he had messed up and that they would fix it.

When I called back two days later I was told by Sean that they had decided I had infact agreed on the price.
After 3 days of fighting nothing was resolved. So after leaving it I waited for my new contract data etc which never came I am still getting my old contract Airtime/Sms.

How do I get out of this contract?
Surely based on the fact that the actual contract is verbal and it is ambiguous I can get out, or due to a lack of service etc.

Please help

you should request a copy of the recording, go CPA on them and call their dogs out. the recording is the only "tangible" proof you have to nail them with.

I tried to get a copy and they said they can't provide me with a copy I will have to listen to it in store

Careful folks, I've just figured out that I've been conned by Autopage. My wife's number is on my name, so I upgraded her acc end Dec 2013. I opted to a more expensive contract, with a better handset and 1GB of data included, was around R400 a month. Now 1 March the new contract kicks in, everything looks ok, but suddenly Apr 2014 and May 2014's bills are dramatically higher(R700 and R900). Did a check-up on the billing and they've put the number on the wrong plan... a Control Chat 100(+100mb data) for R349/m, hence the billing shock. Now they claim this is what I signed off. Going to check the contract info tonight. After many years of satifactory service(10+)... I can now believe what people have been saying all along... Autopage are sneaky sharks!

Oh, and they want R8000 to exit the contract! Bastards!

That's total BS

Check your contract, offer, and amount your are liable for and compare it to the billing.
Dont stop at your branch manager, carry on escalating or else you wont get attention.

Autopage, went to cancel my gf contract this week, the sleazy salesmanship is so apparent,

"lets put you on this offer" , " lets advise of this handset" , " why dont you sign this " , " thats an outdated phone "

and the unfounded irrational negative comments about cell providers was shocking.

Their a bunch of characters.

My Advice, buy a phone and get on the prepaid bandwagon.
