I'm stumped with Autopage's service :wtf:

My account is fully paid up, yet I've just been disconnected due to non-payment :wtf:

Trying to call their call centre is futile, it CONSTANTLY drops the call, or just disconnects you after you have entered your mobile number! Dealing with autopage, I just can't describe the frustration

So here i sit with no mobile phone access and apparently their support centre is down!

Can anyone help? Is there an autopage rep on mybb?

Everything about being a contract subscriber at autopage suxass, they *WILL* make every process as complicated and as incompetent as they possibly can. Have you ever tried to have a data bundle added via the call centre (which you must call for such matters)? Sure sir, your bundle will show within 24 hours, wow 24 hours, why so long? One week later and several phone calls later: still no bundle showing!

It's truly pathetic wishy washy service

And how much have you spent on this? AFAIK you get charged for calling them...

My service is disconnected, the message that plays when i try and make a call is: blah blah please call the call centre for assistance. Surely the call centre number should be allowed to be reached for free from an autopage client's phone number, BUT Nooooooooo. Luckily i'm in my office and can make use of the land line to call them, but if this happened to me over a wknd I'd have to go and buy a phone card and use the public phones to call the call centre?!!

Its the *TIME and money* you spend wasting on these people trying to get through, umpteen times I have been disconnected either just after entering the number or in the middle of explaining the problem to the consultant. And just because you have managed to get through and explain your situation without being disconnected does not guarantee that they will actually DO anything about it in a timeous manner!!!

What is the point of them even having that dumbass voice ask for your mobile number when as soon as you get through to an operator the very first thing they ask you is..........wait for it............you might have guessed..........."what is your phone number please" :wtf:

Can you tell i'm irritated?

In future, don't ever sign up with these useless cellular providers. Rather go straight to Vodacom/MTN/Cell C so you have less bulls**t to deal with. They may not have great service but it's better than dealing with incompetent and pointless middlemen.

On MTN 808 it's the same.

/rant on
When I told the agent I just gave the computer voice my number, his response was, sorry the systems aren't linked.
Phoning MTN 808 is pure torture. You have to listen over and over and over to a very loud voice saying "Manage your MTN SP account online with MTN active..." I wish there was an option to just listen to soft static, just to know that I am still connected.

Do they automatically renew it for another 2 years?

YES.

The little fine print with the terms and conditions state that you ought to give the service provide a months notice to cancel, failing which it will just continue... ( UNTIL you give them notice ) or if you sign up for a further 24 months.

The new credit act that comes into place in April will protect NEW subscribers and not existing subscribers ( as you have already signed up before the act came into force ).

It is rather interesting, consumers need to know their rights and also understand what they sign up for.

So you can still cancel it after they renewed it for another 24 months?
/say I forget to cancel it 1 month in advance. Will I be locked in for another 24 months?

Yep, im sure after month 24 it goes on a month to month contract. Ever wonder why most of the service providers come up with rather enticing deals , with 'freebie' phones in month 22/23 ?

Obviously with any contract you can cancel, but you will become liable for costs of phone and other charges.
