Autopage - Galaxy Note 3 NOT LTE version

Hello Guys

I took up a Vodacom contract with autopage to get the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, as it would seem they have a better deal than even Vodacom themselves. Only after using the phone for a 3-4 days do I realize that the model I have is not the one that has LTE support. This could be the reason Vodacom deals can't match those of Autopage. Customer support from Autopage have confirmed that they do not stock the LTE version of the Galaxy Note 3, if only they had mentioned this upfront I may have changed my mind. Granted, LTE isn't exactly the most reliable connection to have if you are moving around a lot and I don't really need to consume so much data, but I think the principle of the matter is that Autopage didn't highlight that this device doesn't support LTE.

I guess I should have researched the model number a bit more before signing a 2 year contract, as there is no mention of LTE functionality on any of their advertising, I just didn't know there was a non-LTE model.

I hope anyone who was hoping for a LTE version of the Galaxy Note 3 realizes this before they sign up with Autopage.

Cheers.

It's not just LTE that you've lost out on. You won't have 4K video recording and the snapdragon CPU on the LTE model is said to be faster than the octacore Exynos which the non-LTE model has.

No 4K but you still have HD1080@60FPS and the Exynos 5420 is just as powerful as the S800, they each win in their own aspects, but overall not much difference, in actual fact, if Samsung fixed up CCI in the 5410 and 5420, they'd be far ahead of everything right now in both power and efficiency.

Not really. The S800 is the far better-designed chip, from the ground up. big.LITTLE is a mess, and HMP was never its purpose. There is a reason that Samsung are switching a number of models to the Snapdragons, and why Apple are designing their own SoC's.
