I am curious to know if there is anyway to get an AUX or USB input for my Hyundai Getz stock radio.

I have read about those wired FM transmitters but i have no idea if they are any good.

Any help will be appreciated :).

I asked a similar question a while back. The one suggestion was to install an amp with additional inputs and wire the aux into that.

I eventually found an after-market solution from Dension which suited me better, but the amp sounded like cheapish solution while retaining the stock radio.

I shall have a look at some amps that provide AUX input. Thanks.

I am thinking of getting aftermarket sound for my 2010 getz. I might have it installed at soundmatch but would this void my warranty?

Best call the dealer you bought it from. I called mine and they said Designer Audio in Pinetown is the nearest place i can get it done without voiding the warranty.

I have an RF modulator which provides a stereo plug which feeds via cable into the aerial socket. It was easy to install, and the sound is CD quality. Way, way better than the iTrip-style FM transmitters.

Awesome. Where did you get it from?

I am struggling to find any amps with an AUX in.
I have only found them overseas Link.

Well if you want to go the amp route then you need:
set of rca splitters R15
headphone to rca cable R25
Amp R?
I had an amp and equalizer with fitment and everything for R400

The headphone to rca cable and the headunits output plugs into the amp via the rca splitters.
What you could also do is get a parametric equalizer with usb and have that go into the amp.

A new headunit is probably cheaper overall, but going the amp route is going to sound much better.

I got it from xpaudio.co.za, but it looks like they're gone now.

These may do the trick:

FM Transmitters offer nowhere near the quality of an auxiliary input. For starters the bandwidth on FM typically allow for a maximum of 32khz sample rate. Most FM transmitters will down-sample input to 22khz before transmitting it. FM Stereo is not true stereo, it is a joint stereo technology much like a low quality MP3.

Got a better solution then to play mp3's via the cars stereo with no mp3 disc playback or aux port?

If at all possible fit a head unit that can play MP3s. They are quite cheap and not bad at about R1k. Got a LG for my Astra a few years back and it works brilliantly.

That's an option for some cars but an aftermarket unit won't look nice in the Volvo ;)

Yeah. Then you have no choice but going FM. Pity about the quality loss though. I almost never used the FM transmitters in my Nokias.

Nokia N-series devices have built in FM transmitters. Currently both my cars have MP3/Aux/USB.
