Is there an average car depreciation to work, assuming average mileage?

Say for example I bought a used 2006 Yaris now and sold it in 5 years. Is there an average way to calculate what I'd get for a 6 or 7 year old Toyota Yaris?

Yip!! Lemme find the link....

:p:p:p beat you

try changing the "company=" bit, I tried absa and got a different style

The problem is that it doesnt help you see what a Yaris will be in 7 years time.

Expect the value to be very low, perhaps dropping by as much as half or at least a third of the value. No car is an investment and the whole system operates so that you won't get all your money back. That is why some places even garuntee you 50% repurchase price after 3 years. Makes you think we are all being taken for a ride.....

Its in my post? i.e....click the mead value...

So I beat both of you :p

My car only lost 25k in 5 years!!
Thats good right?

The Velo lost 12 k in 3 years, also good IMO.

You gona have bad resale on your car... :o

Thing is, I bought it 1 year old with 15 000km on the clock. Paid R89k compared to the new price of R145k. My reasoning is that the car's taken the big depreciation knock already so I shouldn't have to worry too much.

RSI's don't depreciate by that much.

Bought my first at R72,000 and TRADE 5 years later at R42,000.00

My current I bought at R200,000 and it's TRADE is R142,000.00

I think it's pretty average

Has it had any other knocks, because that seems like a big drop.
