Average Going Rate for a SA Hooker!

Fierce debate in the office this morning, up here in the platteland.... One of the okies watched some documentary where a whore had earned the equivalent of about 80 000 British Pounds over the last two years and reckoned that it seems like a very profitable business if translated into ZA Rands....

I was trying to explain that in British Terms, 80 000 does not seem like a lot of money, the debate started to increase in intensity, but the debate stalled when none of us country bumpkins knew what the average rate would be charged by a SA Hooker.....

Now I know most of you okies are single or gay, but to help strengthen my argument, what is the going rate for the average hooker these days?

Probably an average R800 per hour for a normal working girl, if I factor in the inflation rate since I last saw an ad for such services in the late 2000s.

Obviously those blond eastern european girls in those fancy lounge establishments probably earn quite a bit more.

In Aus it's legal, They pay their taxes and it is a very lucrative business. I think if it was legal here and there where certain rules it could be very lucrative here as well.

Best bet to find out what the going rate is would be to call a few working girls. Look on sextrader.co.za and make a few calls.

seeing as her £40k would probably be untaxed, then that is a salary which would put her far in the top earners tax bracket (max tax rate kicks in at about £40k-ish). It is decent money, but not stunningly decent.
The average pay is meant to be £28k or thereabouts, however that is comprised mostly of some people (1%) earning super milllions, and then about 70million other folks on around £18k-£20k, with benefits needed to "survive".

I'd take a £40k job..everybody I know would too. Not to be sniffed at.
