I need help guys, I am now on xbox no.3 thanks to the RROD

but now my replacement, doesn't play divx unless I am connected to Live, I redownloaded the optional media update, but still

now i spoke to xbox useless support centre, they tell me I have to transfer the licence from old machine to new one, but the problem is u can do it only once a year and well I am on machine no 3 so i did it once this year already, so next time i can is 2010 thats total BS is there a way around the nonsense..

I hate Xbox DRM nonsense

wtf? Dude, that just sucks. Has John Press ever come back to you? Surely there must be a way for the adminstrators of the system to manually transfer the license? Find the escalation path for this mess and exploit it until you get to someone who cares enough to help you. Find out who John Press reports to and escalate the carp out of him.

Dude. All you need to do is make a new live account on the machine and download it with that. Your machine ID needs to be registered. Microsoft save cash by only paying divx for each machine that uses the codec.

If you are using the xbox as a media centre extender do you still need to connect to live?

Yes you do in order to play divx even on windows media centre, only happens as the case in the original post, otherwise you can play divx without being on live.

i am stuck can't play divx in xbox and as extender wants to connect the whole time
