AVI to MPEG 4 Converter for Itunes

Hi Guys

I am looking for good software to convert AVI files to MPEG so I can copy my movies to iPad, at moment when I try to drag and drop movies to itunes nothing happens which means I can copy them to iPad.

They even have profiles already set for Ipad, iphone and different android resolutions so you can save space since you wont need the full resolution for smaller screens.
