I have had it with this lot - no 24 hour telephone support (only working hours), get told to SMS Help to some number, that comes back with a message that there is a technical problem, please try later, takes hours for someone to get back to you on the Client Zone. Not even a SMS message to say we are having a problem. This happens quite often, and "upsteam suppliers" always to blame.

Even Clientzone is down - great support guys!

I hate MWEB more, but at least they keep me informed when they mess up!

My statement is not that data centres do not go down, and that communication links fail, but the fact that when it does, like this morning, you have no way to contact them. What wrong with the good old telephone or cellphone number?

Whats the exact problem you're dealing with?

Who you suggest? Can't continue like this.

I host with Domains.co.za support is out of this world.

I have also hosted with elitehost and don't have complaints other than the price.

I had endless k@k with hetzner from a support perspective

And then I also have OVH but it's in Canada

There Datacentre has had problems from yesterday, and died around 5:30 this morning - but guess what, no telephone support until the office opens - really!!!!

I have this problem regulaly.

Jip I remember those days. I've been with them since 2007 so I know exactly what you are talking about

Use DreamHost, it's overseas hosting... Look online for vouchers, I'm paying $1.8(somewhere there) a month for unlimited hosting with a voucher I found.

I would like to keep local as I need to keep the ping below 100ms as this is a two-way radio switching bridge.

Hi zs6cey,

We currently hosted in the Vox DC in Rutherford Estate in Johannesburg.
Later this year we will have hosting in Teraco, Isando.

Regards,
Dave @ Domains.co.za

Awesome Dave, I have sent a email query relating to the fixed IP on the VPS servers. The server needs to have one, and needs to be quick as it only needs to be a linking server, so very low traffic.

Awesome, I see one of the sales ladies has picked up the ticket.

Yeah, it's just a pity that so far every local host I've used has left a bad taste in my mouth and I'm very wary to try use them again.

I haven't tried Domains.co.za, I might try them out one day if I need to, give them a try and post feedback :D
