Avoiding Eskom is cheaper than ever

I just added additional panels to my setup. The price already seems to be less than half what I paid for 3 years ago. Just the panels, all the other things seemed to either stay the same or just a little higher.

How did you match the new panels to your old ones?

I ended going for a larger inverter. The old panels wasn't well matched to the new inverter so I needed to add the new ones.

The initial install was just to get through load shedding, but now during summer it should be enough to carry the house throughout.

Eskom is canabalizing itself!

How weird is that?

Even though Eskom is bankrupt they urge consumers to use less electricity, in advertisments over the SABC radio broadcasts?

How will Eskom pay the exhorbitant salaries of their fatcat workers?

Thousands of Eskom's ANC cadres will soon be jobless!

The ANC's African dream of FREE EVERYTHING has turned into a gory nightmare of darkness, poverty and decay.

There's no one left to PAY for the freebies .... because they alienated 'white monopoly capital' ...

Time for the millions of nomadic migrants to leave their shacks and move back home ...

Did a bit more research on proposed CoJ CityPower pre-paid for 2024/2025:

The increase is massive for low end users, example prepaid 350kWh user:

This is way above CPI and NERSA increases.
Insane and must be resisted.
Yup I know right, but notice how they have Prepaid Low and High, when in reality we know what it's really for. As how could you have it listed as High and Low but High also starts at 0 and also has higher per kw price.

i have seen people match different size panels in a string
have actually seen a few homes with odd panels , ie if they can't get panel that matches old panels when upsizing
i think what matters is that you have panels with the same amp rating

drive past a house where they obviously had a failure and could not get exact size match, but could get a poly panel, so a string of 20 mono panels with a single poly, been like that for months so seems to be running trouble free

the volts/watts doesn't need to match perfect just the amps, sure it is nice if they are the same physical size though since you don't want the roof to look like tetris, especially if more than one rows

my panels are same model 455/460w mixed, luckily i could get same model buying over 8 months period
