AvP (PC)

hmmm deciding if i should go buy this...
Too many things to play agggghhh!! Starcraft 2 , AvP, BFBC2 on friday, Final Fantasy XIII :|
If we get a dedicated server ill buy it.
 
Myself, to0kenZA an a few others played all the modes online last night and we were hooked. I went to bed pretty late :D
I had a ping of around 80-100 when one of the local okes hosted a game.

All and all I would say it was very fun.

bc2 is coming on friday so I hope I also get time for everything :D
 
Ok, I'm buying it when I get paid :D How are the graphics? I hear many many critics smashing the tables and crying; they aint revolutionary or gtx quad sli - mind blowing.
 
The directx 11 apparently looks pretty amazing... unfortunately I'm still running dx9 on xp with a Radeon HD4870(don't ask why i haven't upgraded to 7 with dx10 goodness :D ) but the graphics still look awesome.

There were okes last night who had a few issues with the dx11 version during multiplayer. Complaint of chopy frame rates etc...
They changed to the dx9 version and the issues seemed to be resolved.

Definitely gunna be jamming again tonight :D
 
So my question still stands, why all the terrible reviews? :P
 
Well I can see why reviews say what they say.
I think they reviewed it with the most recent title in there head, avp 2.
You can't really compare the two because they are 2 completely different games.

It was handed back to rebellion and they did a pretty good job in my opinion... some new thing have been brought in that you have to get used to some old things from the first avp was brought back etc etc. It's one of those things that you either love or hate... If you are a fanboi like me then you will play it anyway regardless :D

The single player is a bit short and the story line is a bit lacking (although who really cares when you get to run on walls and bite heads off :D)
I actually got it more for the multiplayer so I'm quite happy after last night... lots of screams a laughs :D

Hey dude! It was great haha! Changed my perception of the game totally! :D
 
It was awesome...
TDM and DM games were fun.
Predator hunt was fun although I still need allota practice playing the predator.
Infestation was very fun although pretty hard if you are only 7 ppl in a game. Marines huddled together are not easy to sneak up on. And survival was the most fun I reckon...I haven't laughed like that in a while. Hoping they give us more maps though GIEF!


I'm looking forward to a few more games later tonight if you are keen?

Stability improvements to address rare and infrequent hangs

Implemented a workaround for missing audio issues with certain hardware (SoundBlaster X-Fi, Realtek onboard, etc.)

Fixed save games being lost or corrupted if connection to Steam is lost or if user switches to offline play


Multiplayer

Added client-side support for dedicated servers

Ranked match lobbies will no longer end after every match

Fixed XP being incorrectly affected by offline play (though only in the local stats; this will be corrected next time you connect to multiplayer)

Fixed other players sometimes appearing to have the wrong weapon or continuing to fire indefinitely after dying

Fixed rare issue where players would be temporarily invisible

Fixed some selection of servers and players in menus sometimes being incorrect

Oh and dude, there is a steam group called Aliens vs. Predator S.A (AVPSA). Got invited just now by someone.
 
Hoping we get some a bigger number of players so we can try infestation... that would be fun.
 
Still wondering if I should buy this for PC! Come on guys feedback FEEDBACK!! :p Is it worth R400?
