Do you have Win98se or WinME and wanna run "XP" only programs??

Must be installed on Win98/WinME (Dunno if anything else will work but this looks awesome!!) and you must have Microsoft Layer for Unicode (MSLU)

Basically this adds a COMPATIBILITY MODE...

Known problems:

Despite changing Windows version in compatibility tab some programs complain about wrong system version. Example: Adobe Flash Player 10

Solution

Create "xp.reg" file in notepad with following contents

REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion]
"CurrentVersion"="5.1"

Double click on "xp.reg" file.

Install the program.

Create "unxp.reg" file in notepad with following contents

REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion]
"CurrentVersion"=-

Double click on "unxp.reg" file.

This is quite sad to say the least... I would prefer to run Linux than Win98/ME. Reminds me of the port of Half-Life(1998 GOTY) to the Source Engine, nothing special really.

Sadly people still run 98/ME or even worse, 95/3.1. For some people, if it works, there is no reason to change anything unless the computer breaks. Some people get really old laptops and computers, and they are too old to run any modern Windows, but they can still do most jobs needed of them.

Geez dude... you're a real die heart!... Time to throw out the old junk and get something that will run Win7! *g*!!! If you're really that hard up for cash, cheap pc or if not win7, then at least go for a decent linux distro! (I won't normally recommend Linux, but hell... I think the Linux leg humpers here would agree! )
