Axxess, at long last ....

No one was forced to buy the higher cap accounts........ so its not the ISP's fault.

I hate replying straight after I replied (and thanks MaD for making it so that I'm not ) but Pupa I think you got it a bit wrong there (and some right LOL). I can not remember the exact details of why the thread was removed I believe it was because of heated discussions between members that went wrong and caused problems. Much as this one can now. The parts that where relevent where replaced.

Everyone had a clue. Its always been there. The problem is that people forget very quickly when they are happy. From the very beginning everyone was warned. Its like being told that you might burn yourself, and being upset with everyone when you do burn yourself 4 days later because you forgot

The ICASA hearings happened 4 MONTHS before this. I have taken one small post to show people that it was always there. These forums hold a wealth of information that is more valuable than I think many people give it credit for.. The problem is most dont want to search any spend the time to find the info.

I'm not saying you, but its a fact. I've seen it today when people where told that they could do certain things with DDNS by checking things out.. and they and many others then kept on replying back asking for exact instructions. It took me 30 secs to do a search on these forums with the info supplied to find all the answers there.

Its the classical example of the grass is always greener on the other side. But 5 months down the line you think its greener back where you came from and are upset .. But you forget that you made the choose to leave.. as MaD said.. nobody forced anyone. Granted there are many that didn't know and came in late into the "game" thats unfortunate.. buts its how life works.. It doesn't change that its always been there.. you just need to look for it

Thanks for the info, Kalvaer. I was one of the dudes who joined late in the game and was stunned by the increases, but this puts it in perspective.

I am not blaming anybody not saying its their fault at all, They new what was coming nobody said in their adverts it is tempory. I was strung along, I did not know The ISP's did. To find the information on this forum is difficult to say at least, nobody's fault, You have to know what You are searching for. Antway I feel scammed Not your fault TELkOM's fault. With NDA's cheats and lies they conned us. I ado not mean only the hearings as such if You read the way Telkom played it so that Icasa take a softer stance My ...My.
Anyway I am off here, relax as I am really pissed off. I poste a new thread I believe the mods would delete but really I do not care. Thanks for the info, I can see why it was heated and can see why it was deleted LOL

Most of the ISP's said that due to volatility, there are no contracts and it's all month-to-month... that was a clue.

Also, my wife spoke to Marko at SAOL during September and he made it quite clear that they were expecting a bombshell for November, but weren't clear on the details yet.

I don't think it's fair to blame the ISP's since they are at the Evil Empire's mercy and are probably kept in the dark almost as much as the public.

Pupa I can understand how your upset. Many are. Hell I am and I didn't even change.. I'm upset because I now wont be able to. However I do understand that all these companies are there to make money, Big ISP's and Small ISP's. It was also said in that first post I linked
please realise that we -- Imaginet, Axxess, and other ISPs caught up in these crazy price changes -- have had our hands tied to some degree. We want to be responsible to our customers and the public in general. And, I assume, Axxess and others like Imaginet don’t want to operate in ways that we feel may be detrimental to the overall ADSL market in the long-term.
Telkom had planned to make these changes long before axxess or anyone started the accounts from what I read there. The gave the customers what they wanted at the time with what they could give. It was accepted and grabed with both hands.. And they are being ripped apart..

It might not have been in your contract... Hmm wait... There is not contract right :) Why do you think that is.. Why do you think their FAQ pages state:
There is no contract so if the bandwidth changes, or something better comes out, then you simply sign up with the best solution.

It might be called a "fine line" but it was there for everyone to see..

edit LOL well seems you picked it Up Donovan.. sorry for posting the same as what you where saying while I was typing.. but your spot on. I'm sure if anyone bothered to phone or actually do some research into these accounts before hand they would have all been told exactly the same as we are seeing now
