how is that good?

Now the GOOD news…

We are busy installing our own ADSL infrastructure which will be independent of all current bandwidth carriers – this we hope to have live for testing by December. P2P users and gamers will be pleased to hear that we have also developed more user friendly port shaping protocols and will publish these on our website soon.

You can see they've been working on it ...

muhahaha

what a ####ing joke, whem I phoned them they said 'our prices would probably remain the same after the 1st of November"

30Gb form R 349.00 to R 1,899.00 ????????????

I'm cancelling straight away

That's what they said to me too!

And even if they were working on their future pricing, that would be from R349.00 to R1000.00!

Were they just lying? What did they hope to achieve from it?

I really think we deserve and explanation. Anyone from Axxess still out there?

Save yourself the trouble Antonio, you've already paid for the month, according to the info on their website your account will automatically be cancelled at the end of the month. Quite convenient imo, so just go ahead and pick a new ISP!

Can someone please post the new prices here, Our #$%#ing proxy server is blocking the Axxess site as "Pornography" !?!?

to be fair - their prices do reflect the mojority of the other ISP's out there, so it's not really a big surprise. Looking at it logically, you could only be sceptical about their 30GB for R349.00, especially when all the other ISP's couldn't do the same. You can't blame them really, if you bought into it, unfortunately that's the way it is, and complaining about "how axxess lied to us etc etc etc" isn't going to help. At least they're trying to build their own infrastructure to improve things (even if it's only slightly)

I am assuming that their 'lies' were either an attempt to keep clients (which wouldn't make much sense seeing as when the 'truth' is revealed, clients are more likely to leave) or they actually believed they could keep the price low. whichever the reason, there are the prices, take it or leave it.

1Gb = R 99.00 10Gb = R 649.00
2Gb = R 149.00 15Gb = R 949.00
3Gb = R 199.00 20Gb = R 1,299.00
4Gb = R 249.00 25Gb = R 1,599.00
5Gb = R 349.00 30Gb = R 1,899.00

[Un-Shaped ADSL Accounts – Prices include VAT@14%]
1Gb = R 149.00
2Gb = R 299.00
3Gb = R 399.00
4Gb = R 499.00
5Gb = R 599.00

Here is the proposed pricing for January 2006:

[Semi-Shaped ADSL Accounts – Prices include VAT@14%]
1Gb = R 99.00 10Gb = R 499.00
2Gb = R 149.00 15Gb = R 599.00
3Gb = R 199.00 20Gb = R 699.00
4Gb = R 249.00 25Gb = R 849.00
5Gb = R 349.00 30Gb = R 999.00

You're quite right Q-Man, I just think it's really bad practice!

It really seems now that the only two options are SAOL and an IS ISP.

I personally don't want to give my business to SAIX anymore, so IS here I come!

yeah, just read it too, I'll wait another 3 or 4 days before picking up my new provider, but for now SAOL has the best post-November prices

First the Telkom disease called "shaped capped account".

Then Telkom creates "unshaped capped account".

Now what comes next: Axxess "semi-shaped capped account".

Why in hell must a capped account be shaped? Please explain...

In my opinion a better way to prevent so called "bandwidth abusers" from slowing down everything for other users is to block peer-to-peer traffic during the day. Let them only have P2P access from midnight to 7:00am and fight among each other for bandwidth.

Installing their own ADSL infrastructure sounds like good news for the future. Not quite sure why everyone seems so pissed off with them...

What really makes no sense is SHAPED AND CAPPED .... if u cap .. no need to shape, if u have uncapped then shape ...

But this has been discussed way too many times before :)

Like their own infrastructure will be able to compete with saix or is...bull thats just a smoke screen...if anything their own infrastructure will make them less reliable and probably slower..
